The Sylvan Hills High School community is in mourning for the loss of one of their own, Ava Luplow. The school confirmed Monday afternoon that she was tragically killed in a car accident near Sinclair, Wyoming on January 22, 2023.
What happened to Ava Luplow?
The Sylvan Hills High School community is mourning the loss of five beloved students and alumni in a tragic accident this past weekend. Two current and three former students of the Sherwood school were confirmed dead following a car crash near Sinclair, Wyoming on Monday afternoon. The current students were identified as Susana (Suzy) Prime and Ava Luplow; while the three former students were Andrea Prime, Saloman Correa, and Maggie Franco – all recent graduates of the school. Reports suggest that the group was returning to Arkansas after visiting Jackson Hole Bible College in Wyoming when the accident occurred. It is with a heavy heart that we remember these five individuals who touched so many lives during their time at Sylvan Hills High School.
Tragic news has been released from Wyoming High Patrol after a fatal crash occurred on January 22, 2023. The incident took place at milepost 219 on Interstate 80 east of Rawlins, Wyoming when troopers were notified of a wrong-way driver at 6:52 p.m that evening. Unfortunately, at 6:58 p.m., the driver of the Dodge Ram 3500 was involved in an accident involving two other vehicles. It is believed that he was driving eastbound on the wrong side of the interstate until colliding with a passenger car and commercial truck.
According to the statement from Sylvan Hills
“Our thoughts are with the families and school community as they grieve the loss of such young lives. “You will all be greatly missed,” the statement said.
Sylvan Hills has experienced tragedy via car crashes before. In 2004, three students were killed when the car they were in was hit by an 18-wheeler.

Obituary and Funeral Arrangements
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our five young adults, Salomon Correa, Magdalene Franco, Andrea Prime, Suzy Prime, and Ava Luplow. They were on their way back from an inspirational week at Jackson Hole Bible College in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, when they were tragically involved in a multi-vehicle collision on the interstate. We are currently in the process of making arrangements for their funeral, and any donations acquired from this heartbreaking event will be distributed among the families. For those wishing to donate to this cause, please designate a full name, as due to the high volume of donations per family, it will be split otherwise.
