Brandon Hammond mother Alfreda Williams was an actress. Her career was short-lived but she did manage to star in some memorable movies.

Alfreda Williams is known for Summer Blame, Don't look up, and the Amazing Race. His mom passed away on December 6, 2011, due to some unavoidable circumstances.

The child actor was extremely close with Alfreda as she was the one who mentored him and supported him.

He was certainly devastated when she passed away as she was his only parent, it was like the world was upside down for him. He remembers and misses her very dearly even today. 

We can see him posting his mom's picture on her memory and on her birthday.

Recently he posted a thread of pictures with a long caption on it saying," I miss my mom a lot; wish she were here. I’m grateful for all the wonderful memories we share and I appreciate those who knew her well for sharing their wonderful memories of her with me."

They became close during the shooting of the film. He even mentioned that he never felt awkward around her since the beginning.
